Book review

I was familiar with Canaris thirty years. In periods of complications of my relationship with the party, and especially after the killings Bose and Ketteler, I turned to him for help. I knew that he did not hide his negative attitude to the regime, and I've always admired the art with which it maintains its position in the face of Heydrich, the Gestapo, and even Hitler himself. I've always been able to openly express his thoughts. His Abwehr was only one of several competing and overlapping services. Sicherheitsdienst, the Gestapo organized and led by Heydrich, it was originally a German internal organization, even though its information units have been after the war greatly enhanced.
